The Hot One

So, I've got the urge for a new project and set my heart on a little chopper. I'm hoping to get my hands on a Raleigh Mk I or II for restoration.

Please let me know if you have any info on where I can find one! I'll be forever in your debt.

(Check out the ads. Who wouldn't want to ride one of those?)...

Double Windsor

I've never drawn a caricature of anyone before, so when I was asked to design the pump clip for 'Double Windsor' Beer I leapt at the chance. If you see it, jump on the Royal Wedding bandwagon and buy yourself a pint.

Exhibition 2011

Genuinely proud of our show, just wish I'd managed to get some decent shots of Rosie's work, it's super, once I find out if she's got a blog or not I'll link it up. I had a blast showing the pieces I did, just sad I didn't manage to finish the painting of Knut in time. I'm still working on it, and loving painting it, but it's just going to take a little longer than anticipated.

Exhibition 2011

Today was the Private View for the Chelsea stage two exhibition (mark II). I was lucky enough to be able to show my work alongside some extremely talented artists. I tried to take as many decent photos of their work as possible, though they hardly seemed to do the pieces justice. If you have time and you are in the London area, come to Chelsea and give it a visit.

Post Day

Got this a couple of weeks ago.... On the same day. For someone who gets little to no post this was pretty exciting. I like post... Too much. Sometimes I think it's because I wish I was from olden times. Then I remember it's just because I hate email.

The Monster's Bride

Valentine's Day, love it or loathe it, it's here again. This one's for you.

Of Mice and Mermen

Sometimes it's great  to hang off docks upside down. Turns out doing this not only gives you an awesome light headed kinda feeling but also leads to some fairly decent water reflection/shadow photos. I think I've made it pretty obvious that I'm no photographer, but I like these and I had fun taking them. Isn't water beautiful.

Amphitrite (Not Aphrodite)

Sketch of Poseidon's wife, the Sea goddess Amphitrite. Poseidon cheated on her a lot... Aethra, Medusa, Caeneus, Amymone... his sister Demeter. Greek mythology is pretty fucked up, but it does make for a good read.

2011

Just a quick post to say Happy New Year and thanks again to those who check out the blog! Apologies for the lack of posts recently, after moving down to London in September we were without internet until November and as luck would have it the day after it was connected my laptop gave up the ghost and had to go to the doctors. Got it back now though so expect a few posts of drawings I haven't been able to scan until now.  Roll on 2011 (it can't be worse than 2010 right?)

The Loneliest Owl

I wanted to paint a Barn Owl. I love them and it was a pretty good excuse to paint something beautiful as well as brushing up on some techniques. This piece is a fair bit larger than my 'regular' work so I think I'm going to frame it. More photos if I do.

Hotrod Hayride 2010

Took a couple of Photos at the 2010 Hotrod Hayride. The Ford Model Y at the top belongs to Mike Hill - check out his blog Survivor Customs

Was lovely to see so many beautiful cars from all over Europe in sunny England. Had the best time, I love Ratrods, Hotrods, old cars. So I was in Heaven. Can't wait for next years Hayride! Roll on 2011.

Wall Of Death

Demon Drome Wall of Death at The Hot Rod Hayride 2010. Old Indian Bikes and daredevil lads and ladies. Always wanted to see one of these and it was pretty fucking awesome. Would recommend it to anyone. Best £5 I ever spent.

Barbara

Summer is Bumblebee Season. Some people get all irate about Bees, I like them. One day there's gunna be a War between Bees and Wasps. I know whose side I'll be on.

Aliens

Visited the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. The photos here are of Moon Jellyfish (Aurelia Aurita). I do love a good Jellyfish photo and I've been wanting to see some close up like this since I was a kiddie. Made the most of it by spending far too long with my camera trying to get a decent shot - and with my limited photography skills it took a while. - Patience is definitely a virtue.

Self Portrait.

This is a Self Portrait I did a while ago. Sadly I don't look like this anymore. Oils aren't something I'm too used to using. But I like them, they're ridiculously easy to blend and that made me pretty happy. Anyway, this made me laugh and fat babies are funny so thought I'd put it up.

Dream Car

Found this beauty at the 2010 Ink 'N Iron Show in Long Beach CA. Damn. It was one fine looking car. Wish I knew who owned this. I'd shake their hand. And let them know the key to my heart starts that car's ignition.

Get Wild, Drink Whiskey, Ride Fast

I've been working on this painting since April and just finished it today. Stevie will finally have his petrol tank back and be able to do the one thing I've prevented him doing over the past couple of months... Ride. I felt pretty bad about it, saying "You can't rush art". And you can't... 3 Months later (after saying it would only take 1-2 weeks) It's finished. Hopefully this'll put a smile back on his face! Sorry it took so long.

Oh, and thanks to Hunter S. Thompson for the quote.
